Home Sweet Home

They surprised me yesterday, the tears that welled up as we stood in our empty apartment and said good-bye. We had spent nearly 4 years there, and I remember thinking it couldn't possibly get any better than that bright, Chicago-style space. We learned to live in the city in that apartment...to love living in the city there. There were good times and some bad times there, and they all bombarded me yesterday.

And that's a big part of why I love our new home so much. It's a fresh start. A peep-hole into our future. We love the wide open space, the blank canvass, the room to grow. It felt like ours from the first time we stepped into it...where we are meant to be...and now that it's crowded with boxes containing all of our things, Mike and I couldn't possibly be more excited. To keep moving forward. To see what happens next. To enter into the next phase of our life. Together.

PS: Thank you, Mom and Dad, for our adorabe house-warming plant! Can't wait to show you around soon.
