Shakun and Jonathan are getting married

It was instant karma when Mike and I met Shakun and Jonathan at the Ohio Street beach for their engagement session. Like hanging out with old friends. These two like to laugh and their happiness together is infectious. Even with our cameras pointed right at them, they were always comfortable, joking around and having fun. They just shine. Congratulations again, guys. Good luck with all the wedding planning and we want to hear all the news!

Angel baby

He really did look like a little, chubby cherub, sitting there in his diaper on the fluffy white comforter on his parents' bed. This was my absolute favorite part of the shoot...the whole family relaxed and cuddled up on their bed, drenched in gorgeous morning light. Must have been Chase's favorite part, too, because he didn't hesitate to show off his mad modeling skills! When he smiles, it's impossible not to smile, too. And it was so sweet to see him interact with his best buddy, Cody, the family's 11-year-old Golden Retriever (and one of the most well-trained dogs I've ever met!) We had such a great time capturing your beautiful family, Hilary and Erik. Thanks for a fantastic morning!

Gone fishin'

It had been raining for two days straight and the forecast for Friday was calling for more of the same. Cathy and I had held our breath, crossed our fingers and said our Hail Marys that it wouldn't rain for her family portrait session. She had thought a beach location would be perfect for her active 3-year-old twins...and she was so right. All of our wishing and hoping paid off...there wasn't a drop of rain and the light was amazing yesterday morning when we all piled into Cathy and John's van and headed to North Ave. Beach. Jimmy and Maggie were anxious to try out their new "fishing rods" and we all enjoyed having the entire beach to ourselves. Although, I have to admit, my favorite part of the session was in the end when Jimmy threw his arms open wide and said to me, "Gimme a kiss!" These two are just priceless. We had such a blast, you guys! Thanks for an awesome morning.
